The Leininger Peak is a 1135 m high mountain in Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . On the Wilkins Coast, it looms on the north side of the base of the Eielson Peninsula .
Aerial photographs were taken during the American Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947–1948), whose participants carried out on-site measurements together with the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey in 1947. Expedition leader Finn Ronne named him after Commander Joseph Edward Leininger (1911-1996) of the reserve forces of the United States Navy , who helped Ronnes Expedition as a loading logistician for the transport ships used on the research trip.
