Leipephile

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Leipephile ( Greek  Λειπεφίλη , in the manuscripts Λειπεφιλήνη , Leipephilene ), daughter of Iolaos , is a figure in Greek mythology .

She had two children with her husband Phylas , a grandson of Heracles . Her son Hippotes mistakenly slew the seer Karnos , a favorite of Apollo . Her daughter Thero became the mother of Chairon by Apollon .

The handwritten name Leipephilene is emended as a corrupted form of Leipephile , but Hippophile and Deiphile are also suggested as possible .
