Hippotes (son of Phylas)
Hippotes , a descendant (great-grandson) of Heracles , was the son of Phylas and Leipephile in Greek mythology .
On a campaign to recapture the Peloponnese ( return of the Herakleids ), the Heraklid Hippotes killed the Akarnan seer Karnos near Naupaktos , because he thought he had been sent by the enemy. But the seer had spread the belief in Apollo , which is why the god of light caused great calamity in the Heraclidean camp out of vengeance, the fleet was destroyed in the storm and the army was starved. After an oracle, Hippotes was sent into ten-year exile to appease Apollo, where he fathered Aletes .
