The four-and-a-half-storey residential and commercial building was built in 1892 as an inn and relaxation area. The construction company and owner was the Sträbel brothers . The property stretched back across the corner to Hellestrasse, which ran a little further north. The six-axis facade is magnificently designed in the neo-baroque style and structured with flat plaster strips. The two outer axes are emphasized by wider windows and a false risalite . There is a variety of jewelry from facades stuck with balusters , simple and colossal pilasters , cherubs, Hermen, shell ornaments and fittings and scrollwork. The ground floor is rusticated. There is a mezzanine floor , which is provided with flat window slots. However, only the street-side facade and the left side wing of the original building have been preserved.
In the local register of monuments , the residential and commercial building is listed as a monument under registration number 094 82737 .
The building is said to have dominated the streetscape.
