Naming

Like the Huoshenshan Hospital, the newly built hospital in Jiangxia District was named not after a location, but after a figure from Chinese mythology . Leishen ( 雷神 ) or Leigong ( 雷公 ) is the god of thunder from Chinese popular belief . An official explanation for this unusual and unusual naming was not given by the state authorities, which is why there was a lot of speculation on the Internet and social media. The god of thunder is a punishing, feared rather than revered god, who punishes people who have become guilty, but can also cast out evil spirits. Possibly the name was also intended as a warning to behave responsibly in the face of the epidemic and to obey the orders of the authorities.
