Performance (frequency management)

Performance ( English power ), in terms of transmission power , is - according to Article 1156 of the ITU Radio Regulations (Radio Regulations) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) - are defined as follows:

"Wherever the term power of a radio transmitter , etc. occurs, it must always be expressed in one of the following forms in accordance with the type of transmission using the specified, arbitrarily defined identifiers.

For different types of transmission , the designations between peak power, average power and carrier power under normal operating conditions and in the absence of modulation are contained in the recommendations of the Radiocommunication Sector of the International Telecommunication Union ( ITU-R ), which can be used as a guide. In formulas, the label p means the power expressed in watts and the label P the power expressed in decibels , based on a reference level. "

This is also a special term in frequency management that is generally used in connection with the approval of a radio station or the allocation of a radio frequency or a frequency channel.
