Performance surcharge (military pay)

Supplementary benefit to § 8a military pay law have reservists received in Germany, which were ordered in the gain margin or the personnel reserve and so regularly in military exercises participated. The corresponding paragraph of the Military Wages Act was deleted on November 15, 2015. Instead, participants in a military exercise according to Section Four of the Soldiers Act receive a supplement to the tax-free reservist service premium according to Column 3, Annex 2 of the Maintenance Assurance Act , if professional soldiers or temporary soldiers at this place of employment are entitled to foreign service payments or international separation allowance. Military practitioners receive a foreign assignment allowance under the same conditions, at the same time and in the same amount as professional soldiers and temporary soldiers.

If these reservists took part in at least three-day military exercises, they received the performance bonus from the 25th day of military training, soldiers in the career of the teams who had committed themselves voluntarily from the 13th day of military training. The performance surcharge was 25.56 euros per working day and 38.35 euros on Saturday, Sunday or a public holiday, but a maximum of 434.60 euros per calendar year. Service reservists received an increased performance surcharge of EUR 51.13 per day from the 25th to the 48th day of military training and EUR 76.69 from the 49th day of military training, but no more than EUR 1,278.23 in the year of deployment. The foreign use surcharge was offset against the performance surcharge. In the event of tension or defense, or on days off, no performance bonus was granted.
