Leksosero ( Russian Лексозеро , Finnish Lieksajärvi ) is a 166 km² lake in the Republic of Karelia in northwestern Russia . Its average water depth is 8.6 m. The lake is covered by a layer of ice between November and mid-May. The water level fluctuates by 157 cm. There are a number of islands in the lake. The Leksosero is drained via the Sula and Lieksanjoki rivers to Lake Pielinen in North Karelia , Finland .
