Lena Burke (also known as Lena Pérez or simply Lena , born February 18, 1978 in Havana , Cuba ) is a Cuban singer , lyricist , composer and actress .

Life

Lena Burke was born into a musical family. Her grandmother Elena Burke was also a singer. She is the eldest daughter of the famous Cuban singer Malena Burke .

As a child she learned to play the guitar. She began her musical career with the accompaniment of other singers (for example Gloria Estefan , Julio Iglesias , Jennifer Lopez , Thalía , Jaci Velasquez , Chayanne and Alejandro Sanz ). With the latter she also played her first song Tu Corazón , which received a Latin Grammy nomination for best song of the year.

In the film La Mala she played the lead role (the famous Cuban singer La Lupe ) and sang nine songs by La Lupe.

Since 2010 she has been a member of the Jorge Alex y Lena trio .
