Barbara Szabó (born February 17, 1990 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian athlete who has specialized in the high jump .
Athletic career
Barbara Szabó gained her first international experience in 2007 when she finished 15th at the Youth World Championships in Ostrava with a jump of 1.65 m. She then took part in the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Belgrade , where she was eliminated with 1.70 m in the qualification. In the following year she failed at the Junior World Championships in Bydgoszcz with 1.65 m also in the qualification, but in 2009 she reached tenth place at the Junior European Championships in Novi Sad with a height of 1.80 m. In 2013 she took part in the Summer Universiade in Kazan , where she finished tenth with 1.80 m and also qualified for the first time for the World Championships in Moscow , where she was eliminated from the qualification with 1.83 m. In 2014 she took part in the European Championships in Zurich , but did not reach the final there with 1.85 m. In 2015 she was eighth at the European Indoor Championships in Prague with a height of 1.85 m and was eliminated from the qualification at the World Championships in Beijing with 1.80 m . In 2016 she reached eleventh place at the European Championships in Amsterdam with 1.89 m and also qualified for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she was eliminated from the qualification with 1.80 m .
In 2008 and 2009, and from 2014 to 2017 and 2020 , Szabó became the Hungarian champion in high jump outdoors and in 2010 and 2015 as well as 2019 and 2020 indoors.
