Lena Weifen-Rohde

Lena Weifen-Rohde (* 5 February 1989 as Lena Weifen ) is a Lower Saxony dressage rider who in dressage and para-dressage compete.

She was born with dysmelia of the right arm, so that she is missing one hand from birth and only a short stump of the forearm is present. Lena Weifen-Rohde has been riding since she was four, taking part in competitions in disabled and non-disabled sports and does without a prosthesis . As usual, she steers the horse with reins with the help of her left hand and the stump of her forearm.

Since May 2010 she has been riding with the handicap riders in competitive sports. Lena Weifen-Rohde is assigned to competition class Grade V (until 2016 referred to as Grade IV).

At the 2010 World Championships in Kentucky , she finished fourth. With the German team she won the bronze medal at the European Championships in Moorsele in 2011 and previously won gold as an individual rider at the German Championships in Saarland. She also took part in the 2012 Summer Paralympics and took eighth place in dressage. Lena Weifen-Rohde is a trained industrial clerk, has been married since 2015 and lives in Bösel .
