Sparrow Hills
The Sparrow Hills ( Russian Воробьёвы горы Vorobjowy Gory , ) and from 1935 to 1999 Lenin Mountains (Ленинские горы Leninskije Gory ) are almost continuously forested on their northeastern slope in the Russian capital Moscow , up to 70 meters high Elevation in the middle of a large park that stretches for several kilometers along the western bank of the Moscow River . The Sparrow Hills area belongs to the Moscow West Administrative District .
The Sparrow Hills are one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Moscow metropolitan area and have been a popular recreational area for Muscovites for centuries . The upper viewing platform , which is one of Moscow's most famous visitor attractions, and many other points in the area offer views over large parts of Moscow city center . The river promenade and the forest on the slopes are ideal for walking, and in winter a ski slope served by the Luzhniki cable car also attracts winter sports fans here.
The most famous building on top of the survey is the main building of Moscow State University , one of the Seven Sisters called confectioners skyscraper in Moscow, which is an architectural monument of Stalin form -Epoche. Another striking feature is the two-story bridge over the Moskva, in the lower, glazed level of which the Vorobyovy Gory metro station is located. Opposite on the other side of the river is the Luschniki Olympic Stadium and the valley station of the Luschniki cable car .
