features

Lens nigricans is an annual stem therophyte that reaches heights of 10 to 30 centimeters. The plant is fluffy protruding. The leaves sometimes lack the tendril. The 4 to 10 leaflets are linear to elongated and 5 to 10 × 1.5 to 2 millimeters in size. The grapes are one to three flowered and nodding. The flower stalks are longer than the leaves and usually awned. The crown is light blue or purple and 4 to 7 millimeters in size. The pods are 9 to 12 × 4 to 6 millimeters in size and bare.

The flowering period extends from April to May.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 14.

Occurrence

Lens nigricans occurs in the Mediterranean on dry stony wasteland.
