Leo-Karel Jozef De Kesel
Leo-Karel Jozef De Kesel (born October 1, 1903 in Adegem ; † August 3, 2001 in Ghent ) was a Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Ghent .
Life
Leo-Karel Jozef De Kesel was ordained a priest on April 18, 1927 .
John XXIII appointed him on December 28, 1960 auxiliary bishop in Ghent and titular bishop of Synaus . The Bishop of Ghent , Charles Justin Marie Ernest Calewaert , consecrated him bishop on February 24 of the following year ; Co - consecrators were Emiel-Jozef De Smedt , Bishop of Bruges , and Guillaume Marie van Zuylen , Coadjutor Bishop of Liège .
As a motto he chose Humilitate et Mansuetudine ("Through humility and meekness"). He attended every session of the Second Vatican Council . On July 13, 1990, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation. Cardinal Jozef De Kesel , Archbishop of Mechelen-Brussels , is his nephew.
