Leo Ahern

Leo James Ahern (born July 17, 1886 in Chicago , † July 25, 1974 in Washington, DC ) was an American brigadier general in the US Army .

Life

Ahern completed an officer training after school and was then an officer in the field artillery of the US Army, in which he took part in the First World War . After the war he was between 22 June and in December 1919 the first commander ( Commanding Officer ) of the 5th Field Artillery Brigade (5th Field Artillery Brigade) and then commander of the 20th Field Artillery Regiment (20th Field Artillery Regiment) before it on 16 February to 1st March 1920 again in command of the 5th Field Artillery Brigade. After further assignments he was between June 30, 1932 and August 30, 1936 assistant to the head of the investigative department in the office of the Inspector General of the US Army , where he was promoted to lieutenant colonel (lieutenant colonel ) on January 1, 1934 ) . Subsequently, he was initially assistant to the general inspector for the III.
