Leo Geiger

Leo Geiger (born January 21, 1900 in Budapest , † February 5, 1958 in Vienna ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and toolmaker. He was a member of the Federal Council from 1954 to 1957 and a member of the Austrian National Council from 1957 to 1958 .

Geiger completed five classes in an elementary school and three years in a community school before he learned the trade of toolmaker . He then worked in the profession he had learned, attended evening classes and became central secretary of the metalworkers' union. He was politically active as a member of the federal board of the Austrian Federation of Trade Unions and was also chairman of the supervisory board of the consumer cooperative in Vienna . He represented the Social Democratic Party between December 10, 1954 and June 6, 1957 in the Federal Council and was a member of the National Council from June 6, 1957 until his death.
