Leo God's life (* 15. April 1909 in Spiesen ; † 9. July 1983 in St. Wendel ) was a German politician of the CDU .

Life and work

After graduating from the Humanistic Gymnasium in Sankt Wendel, Gottesleben, who was of Roman Catholic faith, attended the Pedagogical Academy in Bonn . After graduating, he became a teacher and school principal in the Saar area . During the Second World War he was an infantry officer and was taken prisoner of war, from which he was released in 1946.

After the war, Gottesleben first became a cultural and youth advisor in the Saarland Ministry of Culture and, in 1956, a school councilor in the Eppelborn district . He was married and had three children. He was a member of the Catholic student association KStV Ketteler Mainz.

MP

Gottesleben belonged to the German Bundestag from 1957 to 1972. He represented the Ottweiler constituency in parliament.

Honors

Gottesleben was awarded the Saarland Order of Merit on January 19, 1976 .
