Leo Radakovits

Leo Radakovits (born April 7, 1959 in Oberwart ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). Radakovits has been the mayor of Güttenbach since 1992 and was a member of the Burgenland state parliament from 2005 to 2015 .

education and profession

Radakovits attended elementary school in Güttenbach from 1965 to 1969 and then the secondary school in Sankt Michael until 1973. Radakovits graduated from the commercial academy in Stegersbach from 1973 to 1978 and studied business administration at the University of Vienna from 1978 to 1982. In 1982 he became the municipal office manager of Güttenbach.

politics

Radakovits was elected to the municipal council of Güttenbach in 1987 and was promoted to mayor of the municipality in 1992. From 1998 to 2003 he was Vice President of the Burgenland Association of Municipalities and has been President of the Burgenland Association of Municipalities since 2003. Since 2004 he has also been the district chairman of the Güssing district of the ÖAAB. Radakovits was sworn in as a member of the Burgenland state parliament on October 25, 2005 and was area spokesman for municipalities and administration as well as ethnic groups.

Private

Radakovits is married, has a son and a daughter and lives in Güttenbach. He is a member of the Burgenland-Croat minority and was elected chairman of the Croatian National Advisory Council in 2006.
