Leon Iduma Okpara (born February 3, 1998 in Cologne ) is a German basketball player. He is under contract with the Artland Dragons .
career
Okpara played in his youth for TV Blatzheim, then from 2011 for the Cologne 99ers and after the merger with MTV Cologne then for the RheinStars Cologne . In the 2014/15 season, when the RheinStars became champions of the 1st Regionalliga West, Okpara came to short appearances in the men's team, in the following season also in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA , after the club received a game license for the second division and thus the 2. Bundesliga ProB had skipped.
In the summer of 2017 he was put under contract by the Bundesliga club Gießen 46ers . After 17 Bundesliga appearances for Giessen in three years, Okpara left Central Hesse, for whose second team he played primarily in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB. At the end of May 2020, his move to Quakenbrück second division Artland Dragons was announced.
National team
In 2019 he was appointed to the German U23 national team in the basketball game "3-on-3" . At the beginning of August 2019 he was in the men's competition class of the German "3-on-3".
