Leonard Dillon
Leonard Dillon (born December 9, 1942 in Portland Parish , Jamaica , † September 28, 2011 in Kingston , Jamaica) was a Jamaican musician .
Life
Dillon, born in Portland Parish in 1942, began his career in the early 1960s under the pseudonym Jack Sparrow and recorded a number of ska songs, such as Bull Whip , in which the young Bob Marley can be heard as a background singer. He was then the singer and songwriter of the reggae group The Ethiopians . His texts and his life were shaped by the Rastafarian . His best known songs included Train to Skaville and Everything Crash .
Dillon died of lung cancer.
