Leonardo Coimbra

José Leonardo Coimbra (born December 30, 1883 in Borba de Godim , Lixa , † January 2, 1936 in Porto ) was a Portuguese philosopher , professor and politician .

He was one of the most prominent figures of the Portuguese Renaissance movement Renascença Portuguesa , which he founded together with Teixeira de Pascoaes (1877–1952), António Sérgio (1883–1969), Raul Proença (1884–1941) and others. From 1919 to 1931 he was professor of philosophy at the Faculty of Literature in Porto.
