Detlev F. Neufert

Detlev F. Neufert is a German author and director .

Career

While still studying philosophy, German and theology, he has been shooting features and documentaries since 1971. His feature film Take the Night Away premiered in 1982 in the Un Certain Regard series at the Cannes Film Festival . During his visiting professorship for German Film at the University of California, Santa Barbara , he lectured in San Francisco , Seattle and Los Angeles, among others . In 1998 he became national board member of the German art party Chance 2000 , working with Christoph Schlingensief .

From 1998 to 2010 he worked mainly in Asia as a filmmaker and curator for various exhibition and culture crossing projects. Detlev Neufert has worked as a director for ARD and ZDF and as an author for the Süddeutsche Zeitung , Rheinische Post , WZ , NRZ and the epd . His documentaries have been shown in Asia on Bhutan Broadcasting System , CCTV (China Central Television), National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (Thailand) and Channel 7 (Thailand), among others .

He is also active as a book author. In 2005 he founded the Christian International .

He has been living at Chiemsee since 2011.
