Leonardo Frullani

Leonardo Frullani (born June 13, 1756 in San Giovanni alla Vena (near Pisa ), † May 4, 1824 in Florence ) was a Tuscan statesman.

Leonardo Frullani was the son of Domenico Frullani and Rosa Batini. He completed a law degree at the University of Pisa . In the 1790s he was a councilor in Livorno , and from 1797 onwards he held the post of Vice-Governor of Livorno. From 1814 he was Finance Minister of the Duchy of Tuscany under Ferdinand III.

On November 23, 1792 he married Maddalena Ombrosi. The two had two sons, Giuliano (1795–1834) and the lawyer and poet Emilio (1808–1879).

Honor taxon

The Italian bryologist Giuseppe Raddi dedicated the moss genus Frullania to Frullani .
