Leonhard Fischer , nickname Lenny Fischer (born January 6, 1963 in Nordhorn , Grafschaft Bentheim district ) is a German manager . Since 2007, Fischer has headed the financial investor RHJ International together with Timothy Collins , which renamed the BHF Kleinwort Benson Group in March 2015.

Life

Fischer studied business administration at Bielefeld University and the University of Georgia , USA. In 1985 he began his career in the investment banking division of the US company J. P. Morgan . In 1995, Fischer moved to Dresdner Bank AG , where he was promoted to the board in 1999. From 2000 Fischer headed the investment banking of Dresdner Bank under the brand name Dresdner Kleinwort Benson (later Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein). In this position he was responsible for the takeover of the US investment company Wasserstein Perella. In spring 2001, Fischer also became a board member of Allianz SE when it took over Dresdner Bank. In connection with the unfavorable business development of Dresdner Bank, Fischer left the Allianz Group in autumn 2002 and became CEO of the Swiss insurance group Winterthur the following year . Fischer also became a member of the executive board of its owner Credit Suisse and was responsible for the Europe, Middle East and Africa area.

In 2007, Fischer joined the management team of the financial investor RHJ International together with the American Timothy Collins . Under Fischer's direction, RHJ International tried to take over the automobile manufacturer Opel from General Motors in the spring of 2009 , but ultimately did not get a chance. In the fall of 2009, RHJ International took over the British asset manager Kleinwort Benson (part of Fischer's former employer).

In March 2014 RHJ International took over BHF-Bank in Frankfurt am Main. The listed company RHJ International was renamed BHF Kleinwort Benson Group in spring 2015. Leonhard Fischer is Director and CEO of the BHF Kleinwort Benson Group in Brussels and was Chairman of the Supervisory Board of BHF-BANK in Frankfurt. Since 2014 the bank has been part of the BHF Kleinwort Benson Group, which was 100 percent taken over by the French private bank Oddo & Cie in mid-March 2016.

In November 2017, Lenny Fischer and the former Bild editor-in-chief Kai Diekmann announced the planning of a "digital asset management" which will manage around 20 billion euros from private investors and offer a "journalistically independent financial website" with editorial articles on the economy in parallel to asset management. whose editor-in-chief is Christin Martens .
