Leonhard Huettenhofer

Leonhard Hüttenhofer (born July 10, 1924 in Trugenhofen , today Rennertshofen , † January 22, 1978 in Gessertshausen ) was a German politician ( CSU ).

Hüttenhofer, who was a paratrooper in the Second World War before he was captured by the British, completed a professional education with a high school diploma, university entrance qualification and studies at the State Institute for Agricultural Education and thus became a teacher at the agricultural vocational school in Augsburg and an agricultural engineer. From 1964 he headed the agricultural district vocational school in Augsburg with a vocational training school, after a vocational college was affiliated in 1971, he was appointed director of studies. Hüttenhofer joined the CSU in 1954. At the Junge Union he was district chairman from 1956 to 1962. In 1960 he was elected to the Augsburg district assembly, in 1966 he became parliamentary group chairman and deputy district administrator. In 1974 he was elected directly to the Bavarian state parliament in the Augsburg-Land-Nord constituency.

He died during a charity soccer game on the sports field in Gessertshausen, his successor was Hubert Spiekenheuer .

In memory of Leonhard Hüttenhofer, the "Leonhard Hüttenhofer Memorial Tournament for Old Men Teams" has been held every year since 1979 in the Augsburg district. The finals (match for 3rd place + final) always take place at the place of his death on the Gessertshausen sports field.
