Leonid Fjodorowitsch Kanareikin ( Russian Леонид Фёдорович Канарейкин ; born August 21, 1976 in Moscow , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player who was active for Salawat Yulayev Ufa , Krylya Sovetov Moscow , Severstal Cherepovets and HK Spartakovets , among others . The greatest success of his career was winning the IIHF European Champions Cup 2006 with HK Dynamo Moscow .
Career
Leonid Kanareikin began his career as a hockey player in the Russian Super League , in which he made his debut for Krylya Sovetov Moscow in the 1995/96 season . After two years with their league rivals Salawat Julajew Ufa , the defender returned to Krylya Sovetov. There he began the 1998/99 season before he ended the season at Severstal Tscherepowez . In the following two seasons Kanareikin was again in his three ex-clubs Salawat Julajew Ufa, Severstal Tscherepowez and Krylya Sowetow Moscow in the squad. From 2001 to 2003, the left-shooter finally played for HK Spartak Moscow before signing for the third time with Salawat Yulayev Ufa, for which he played two more seasons in the Superliga. With HK Dynamo Moscow he achieved his only title so far when he won the IIHF European Champions Cup with the team in 2006 . The 2006/07 season began the Russian at HK CSKA Moscow , which he finished at Salawat Yulayev Ufa, for which he was active for the fourth time.
After two more years at HK Spartak Moscow, Kanareikin was signed by Atlant Mytishchi during the 2008/09 season . He then played for a year for Molot-Prikamje Perm in the new second Russian division, the Wysschaja Hockey League , before moving to Titan Klin within the league for the 2011/12 season. There he ended his career in summer 2012.
