The Leonova Bay ( Russian Бухта Леонова Buchta Leonowa ) is a bay on the Knox coast of the East Antarctic Wilkesland . It is located in the bungee oasis .
Scientists on a Soviet Antarctic expedition mapped it and named it in 1956. It was named after the Soviet Arctic explorer Leonid Ivanovich Leonov (1896–1952). The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia transferred this designation in a partial translation into English.
