Leopold Götz
Johann Karl Leopold Götz (* 1833 in Königsberg (Prussia) , † 1903 there ) was a German Protestant theologian.
Life
Götz studied Protestant theology at the Albertus University of Königsberg and the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . In 1858 he was given a pastor's post in Albrechtsdorf , and in 1860 in Dollstädt , East Prussia . Appointed as leader and pastor in 1874, he headed the Deaconess Mother House and Hospital of Mercy in Königsberg / Prussia (whose tradition is continued in the Federal Republic today under the name Deaconess Mother House of Mercy in Altenberg ) for almost 30 years. He was chairman of the Prussian Bible Society and a member of the missionary board . In 1900 he reported 50 years of deaconess work at the Hospital of Mercy .
