Leopold Grünwald
Leopold Grünwald (born August 26, 1901 in Vienna; † 1992 ) was a Sudeten German communist and free thinker of Jewish origin.
Grünwald was secretary of the Czechoslovak Freethinkers Association in the 1930s. During the war he was responsible for the Sudeten German freedom broadcaster in Moscow. After the war he lived in Austria . From 1945 to 1969 he was a member of the KPÖ and editor of its central organ Volksstimme , most recently a correspondent in Prague.
After the invasion of Prague by the Warsaw parties, he turned away from communism, at least from real socialism in the form of the Soviet system. Grünwald is the author of numerous books on the Sudeten German resistance to National Socialism and the problem of the Sudeten Germans in general.
