Leopold Wedel

Leopold Wedel (born December 25, 1941 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). From 1993 to 1997 he was district chairman of the 22nd district of Vienna Donaustadt .

Wedel completed his school education in Vienna up to graduation from commercial school and worked professionally as an insurance employee, whereby he was involved in the social democratic party at an early age. He was initially active as a district councilor in the Donaustadt district and between 1978 and 1993 held the position of deputy district mayor. After the death of his predecessor Albert Schultz , Wedel took over the office of district chairman on December 22, 1993, which he held until December 31, 1997. His successor was Franz-Karl Effenberg . During his tenure as district chairman, he founded the city ​​partnership with Arakawa , a district of Tokyo .
