Leopold Weinmayer

Leopold Weinmayer (born October 9, 1904 in Vienna , † July 19, 1966 in Klosterneuburg ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and specialist inspector in the postal and telegraph service. He was a member of the Federal Council from 1945 to 1953 and a member of the Austrian National Council from 1953 to 1966 .

After elementary school, Weinmayer attended the community school and then joined the postal and telegraph service at the age of 15. After the Second World War, in 1947 he became state party secretary of the ÖVP Lower Austria.

Weinmayer was politically active between 1922 and 1938 as a member of the Christian postal union and between 1946 and 1947 he was the regional organization manager of the ÖAAB Lower Austria. After he had already been the managing council of Klosterneuburg from 1934 to 1938, he took over the office of mayor of Klosterneuburg after 1945 and represented the ÖVP from December 19, 1945 and March 18, 1953 in the Federal Council, where he was from December 6, 1949 to was Deputy Chairman of the Federal Council on June 30, 1951 and held the office of Chairman from January 1, 1952 to June 30, 1952. Weinmayer was then a member of the National Council from March 18, 1953 to March 30, 1966.
