Les Mosses

Les Mosses is a district of the municipality of Ormont-Dessous and a winter sports area in the Swiss canton of Vaud .

Les Mosses is 1,436 m above sea level. M. , on the pass of the Col des Mosses , and consists mainly of hotel and holiday homes as well as nine ski lifts.

history

In 1935 the Col des Mosses ski club was founded. From 1963 to 1987 there was an electric gondola that opened up the Pic Chaussy . The ski area is part of the Valais SkiCard .

In 2011 the Swiss cross-country skiing championships took place in Les Mosses. In March 2014, the two national biathlon series RUAG Kids Trophy and RUAG Swiss Cup took place in Les Mosses.

Since 2012, the community has been part of the Parc naturel régional Gruyère Pays-d'Enhaut .

Other

The jazz musician Daniel Bourquin worked as a doctor in Les Mosses for decades.
