Daniel Bourquin

Daniel Bourquin (also called Nunusse ; born August 13, 1945 in Neuchâtel ) is a Swiss doctor and jazz saxophonist .

Life

Bourquin learned the saxophone at the Conservatoire de Lausanne and from 1970 played in a quartet with Ariel Cuche (trumpet), Olivier Magnenat (bass) and Pierre Gauthier (percussion) . He played with numerous other jazz musicians and founded a trio in 1977 with Beb Guérin and Marc Hellman ; then he played in the formation of Ole Thilo . In 1981 he founded the BBFC quartet with Jean-François Bovard (trombone), Léon Francioli (bass, piano) and Olivier Clerc (percussion), which played in Europe, America and Africa for ten years. With Francioli he formed the Nouveaux Monstres . He worked for Maurice Béjart with his works Fiche Signalétique and Souvenir de Léningrad .
