Les rayons Röntgen is a short animated film by Georges Méliès from 1898.

Movie content

In the one-minute black and white film , a man is x-rayed by a doctor , whereupon the skeleton detaches itself from the body and walks around while the rest of the body is left behind. An argument then begins with the doctor until it explodes.

The silent film from the trick factory Méliès is the first film in which the scientist fell victim to his exploding equipment. The discovery of X-rays had only recently been described by Wilhelm Röntgen at the end of December 1895 , and X-ray technology was anything but mature at the time, which gave free rein to the fantasies about the side effects .

The film length is given as 65 feet / 20 meters.
