Lesego Makgothi
Lesego Casayel Makgothi (born February 23, 1965 in Maseru ) is a Lesothic politician of the All Basotho Convention (ABC). From June 2017 to May 2020 he was the country's foreign minister .
Life
Makgothi won the Maseru constituency , which includes the city center of the capital Maseru , in the 2015 parliamentary election , and was thus a member of the National Assembly . In 2016, like his party leader Thomas Thabane and other opposition politicians, he fled to South Africa out of fear for his life . In the election in early June 2017 , he won his constituency with 61.5% of the vote. On June 23, 2017, he was sworn in as Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations following the ABC's election victory . He is no longer a member of the Majoro Cabinet , which was sworn in on May 21, 2020.
