Lesiëm

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lesiëm is a German music project that was founded in 1999 by producers Sven Meisel and Alex Wende. The music of the project combines various elements of rock , pop , electronic music , new age and ambient , as well as Gregorian chant and other choral music. It is comparable to the Enigma project by Michael Cretu , the French music project by Eric Levi, Era , the German music project Gregorian by Frank Peterson and the Norwegian artist Amethystium .

Lesiëm released their debut album, Mystic, Spirit, Voices , in Europe in 2000. 2 years later it was published in the United States. There the album reached number 7 on the US Billboard charts. The follow-up album, Chapter 2 , was released in Europe in 2001 and under Illumination in the US in 2003.

The first two albums were the predecessors of the pop opera Times , which was released as Lesiëm's third album (in the USA as Auracle 2004). The musicians started their work in March 2002 and finished it at the end of July. The single Caritas (feat. Maggie Reilly and the choir of the Deutsche Oper Berlin ) was presented in December 2002 in the TV show by Jose Carreras , the "Carreras Gala". In 2013 they produced a medley for Kölner Lichter.
