Lethal Records was an Austrian independent label specializing in extreme metal . The label was founded by Michael Piesch and was based in Vienna.

Label history

Lethal Records was founded by Michael Piesch and put its focus on extreme metal, primarily death and black metal from the Finnish and Austrian scene. Piesch himself was active as a musician, for example for the band Werwolf under the pseudonym Hagen. He also produced some albums for bands on his label, including Pervertums Creature of Ungod . One of the most famous releases is the album Thousand Swords by Graveland . After an interview with Rob Darken in the German Ablaze magazine, in which Darken made right-wing extremist statements, Piesch canceled the record deal with Graveland.

Lethal Records was considered a "rip-off" in the scene. Piesch was accused of not paying the bands, but Cadaverous Condition, for example, did not agree with this statement. The Finnish band Belial from Impaled Nazarene's environment released a demo on the fantasy label Bring Me the Head of Michael Piesch Records. Due to financial problems, the label ceased operations in 1997; The Funeral Winds debut album Godslayer Xul , announced for 1995, was only released in 1998 through Daimonion because of the bankruptcy of Lethal Records and the arrest of Funeral Winds member Hellchrist Xul for attempted homicide. The last publication was the electro - country project Wipeout by Wolfgang Fadi Dorninger .
