Levi Casey (athlete)

Levi Burnside "Lee" Casey (born October 19, 1904 in Vienna , Illinois , † April 1, 1983 in Costa Mesa , California ) was an American triple jumper .

In 1928 he became US champion for the third time in a row and thus qualified for the Olympic Games in Amsterdam . There he won the silver medal with 15.17 m behind the Japanese Mikio Oda (15.21 m) and in front of the Finn Vilho Tuulos (15.11 m).

In 1930 he won the national title again, in 1931 he became US runner-up. He set his personal best of 15.18 m on August 17, 1930 in Chicago .
