Levi H. Dowling (born May 18, 1844 in Bellville , Ohio - † August 13, 1911 ) was an American writer, preacher, pastor and pioneer of the New Age .

biography

Dowling's father was a minister for the Christian Church Disciples of Christ . Levi Dowling took part in public debates at the age of 13, and three years later, at 16, began his preaching work. Two years later he was appointed pastor of a small church and at 20 he joined the US Army as a chaplain. In 1866 and 1867 Dowling studied at Northwestern Christian University in Indianapolis . From this point on he published literature for Sunday schools. In addition to this activity, the American preached, among other things, at the funeral of US President Abraham Lincoln in front of the troops of the Union Army .

As a result, two spiritual healing books appeared with the titles Self-Culture and Biopneuma: The Science of the Great Breath . Dowling graduated from two medical schools with a degree in medicine , but withdrew from the medical profession and devoted himself to writing.

From a young age Levi Dowling devoted himself to spirituality, meditation and the Akashic Record . After the vision of “building a white city”, he wrote his most famous work: The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ , the “Aquarian Gospel”. Composed in the 19th century and published in 1908, it describes the lost years of Jesus, that is, the period of 18 years between youth and public appearance. Dowling also writes that humanity is on the verge of crossing Pisces - into the Age of Aquarius .
