Lewis Maxson (also Louis Maxson , Lewis Maxon ; born July 2, 1855 in Herbertville , California , † July 2, 1916 in Baltimore , Maryland ) was an American archer .
Maxson, one of the best American archers, won the gold medal at the 1904 Olympic Games in St. Louis with the team, the Potomac Archers , in an American domestic duel.
He was multiple American champion from 1889 to 1894, which he was last able to achieve in 1898. The patent attorney also took part in the individual disciplines of 1904, but only finished twelfth in each case.
