Li Kuchan
Li Kuchan (actually Li Ying ; * 1898 , † 1983 ) was an important modern Chinese painter.
Life
Li was born in Gaotang County, Shandong Province . He came from a poor farming family. In 1919 he met the artists Xu Beihong and Qi Baishi , who taught him painting. He studied in Beijing and took care of himself by working as a rickshaw pen . Here he was nicknamed Kuchan. When he was 29, he was a professor at Hangzhou Art School .
Act
In his pictures, which can be assigned to traditional ink painting, he dealt with landscapes, birds and flowers. He was also active in calligraphy.
