Li Qiang

Li Qiang ( Chinese  李强 , Pinyin Lǐ Qiáng ; born July 1959 in Rui'an City, Zhejiang Province ) is a Chinese politician and since October 2017 a member of the 19th Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China and Party Secretary of Shanghai City .

Career

Li was born in Rui'an, Zhejiang Province in July 1959. He joined the Chinese Communist Party in 1983 . From 2011 to 2016, he was Deputy Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party of the Zhejiang Province Central Committee and Party Secretary of the Provincial Political and Legal Commission. He was provincial governor of Zhejiang from 2013 to 2016. He was a deputy member of the 18th CPC Central Committee and from 2016 to 2017 party secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee . Since October 2017 he has been a member of the 19th Politburo of the Communist Party of China and party secretary of the Shanghai Central Committee .
