Career

He took part in the Nordic World Ski Championships 2005 in Oberstdorf , where he, like his teammates, only ended up in the back of the list. In the team competition, he was next to last with Tian Zhandong , Wang Jianxun and Chengbo Li in both competitions. Yang also took part in the Turin 2006 Winter Olympics. As in Oberstdorf, he was the best Chinese, but could not hold his own against the world's best. Together with Tian Zhandong, Wang Jianxun and Yang Guang he finished last in the team competition. After a long break from the World Cup, he was seen in January 2010 with Tian Zhandong in Sapporo. However, he could not qualify for the competition. At the Winter Asian Games 2011 in Almaty , Li finished fourth and last with the team. The individual competition that followed two days later, which Yang finished in twelfth place, was also his last contested competition. Yang ended his active sports career shortly thereafter.
