Liao Cheng-Ting (born February 12, 1996 in Taipei ) is a Taiwanese table tennis player .

Career

The right-hander has been performing internationally since 2013, including at the New Caledonia & Cadet Open, where he won the gold medal.

Further appearances followed in 2014, at the Korea Open he beat Machi Asuka , but failed in the further course of the tournament. In 2015 he was active in the Chinese Superleague , but could not achieve much success.

From 2016 he appeared more and more frequently, with the Hong Kong team he surprisingly lost to England at the World Cup , so that the team was eliminated in the quarter-finals. He also took part in the Belgium Open, where he was able to secure the title in the U-21 competition.

He was also able to win the U-21 title at the Swedish and Bulgaria Open. In 2017 Liao won bronze at the Asian Cup with the team, at the Qatar Open he had to admit defeat to Olympic champion Ma Long with relatively no chance .

In 2018 he failed with the team in the round of 16 at the World Cup . He has been playing in the German Bundesliga - coming from the Swedish club BTK Kävlinge - for 1. FC Saarbrücken since 2018 .
