Libório Pereira

Libório Pereira is an East Timorese civil servant.

Career

Pereira entered the public service in 1991 as a professor at the Dili Technical School . At the time of the United Nations Interim Administration for East Timor (UNTAET), he worked as a translator for the Australian military and the World Bank . In 2000 he was the first East Timorese to be hired for an indefinite period by the United Nations Interim Administration for East Timor (UNTAET). The then 37-year-old was sworn in by the director Sérgio Vieira de Mello on August 2nd. Pereira was selected from 32 applicants. He was subordinate to the then Secretary of the Public Service Commission , where he was responsible for government tasks and public administration until further notice as Senior Recruitment Officer .

When the Ministry of State Administration was established in 2005, Pereira became National Director of Public Service. In 2008 he was appointed Director General of the Secretariat for the Establishment of a Public Service Commission. On August 14, 2009, Pereira was appointed Commissioner and President of the newly founded Comissão da Função Pública (not identical to the commission of the same name under UNTAET) by the East Timorese government . He held this office until 2015. Then, on May 29, he was replaced by Faustino Cardoso Gomes .

On March 15, 2016, the Council of Ministers appointed him Executive Director of the East Timor Cooperation Agency (ACT-L) for a three-year term.
