The Liberty Memorial Bridge , also known as the Missouri River Bridge , spanned the Missouri between Bismarck and Mandan in North Dakota .

The truss bridge was built according to the plans of CAP Turner until 1922 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places from 1997 until it was blown up in 2008 .

As the first road bridge over the Missouri, it has long been one of the most important traffic routes in North Dakota. Its importance was not only relevant for the infrastructure of the twin cities of Bismarck and Mandan, but also for the west and east of North Dakota, both sides of which could be reached with this bridge for the first time without a ferry. In addition, the bridge was part of US Highway 10

The Liberty Memorial Bridge was replaced in 2008 by a reinforced concrete bridge about 50 meters downstream.
