Lidia Santos
Lídia Santos (* 1948 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian literary scholar .
Santos studied Portuguese literature at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro , where he obtained a bachelor's degree . She received her PhD from the University of São Paulo . She then worked at Yale University and the Universidade Federal Fluminense . She is Professor of Hispanic Literature at the City University of New York .
In 1992 she received an award as a writer from Radio France Internationale , and in 2003 she received an award from the Latin American Studies Association for her book Tropical kitsch .
