The Lie-Kliff is a striking cliff in the west Antarctic Marie-Byrd-Land . In the Crary Mountains , it towers on the east side of the base of Mount Steere .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it using the United States Navy's own surveys and aerial photographs from 1959 to 1966. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1975 after the ionospheric physicist Hans P. Lie, who was part of the United States Antarctic Research Program worked on the Siple station from 1970 to 1971 and from 1973 to 1974 .
