Liechtenstein Ski Association

The Liechtenstein Ski Association (LSV) is the national ski association of the Principality of Liechtenstein . It was founded on December 11, 1936 at the same time as the State Sports Association for the Principality of Liechtenstein . The LSV has been a member of the International Ski Federation (FIS) since 1949 . From 1967 there was a training community with the Swiss ski association Swiss-Ski for 17 years . During this time, some Liechtenstein ski racers made it to the top of the world. This collaboration was ended by the Swiss Association in 1984, but resumed in the 1990s. The LSV has the “ Alpine & Trend Sports” and “ Nordic & Biathlon ” departments. Alexander Ospelt , who runs a law firm in Schaan, has been president since 2015 .

The most successful athletes of the Liechtenstein Ski Association come from alpine skiing. Medal winners at World Championships and Olympic Games are: Hanni Wenzel , Andreas Wenzel , Willi Frommelt , Paul Frommelt , Ursula Konzett , Marco Büchel and Tina Weirather .
