Paul Frommelt (born August 9, 1957 in Schaan ) is a former ski racer from Liechtenstein .

biography

In the 1970s and 1980s he was part of the successful Liechtenstein ski team led by siblings Andreas and Hanni Wenzel. The slalom specialist won four World Cup slaloms and the bronze medal in slalom at the 1978 World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and at the 1988 Olympic Games in Calgary . He also won the final parallel slalom on March 23, 1986 in Bromont (CAN), which was only part of the Nations Cup. At the beginning of his career he had already won the bronze medal in slalom at the European Junior Championships in 1975 . In 2008 he was awarded the Golden Laurel Leaf for his athletic achievements . Frommelt was voted Sportsman of the Year seven times in Liechtenstein .

His older brother Willi Frommelt was also active as a ski racer. His older brother Peter Frommelt took on for Liechtenstein a. a. participated in the table tennis world championship 1989 in Dortmund and the table tennis world championship 2006 in Bremen. His father was the cross-country skier Christof Frommelt .
